Random Pictures

Over the last few weeks, we have accumulated several pictures of Autumn, a few of Terra, and a really cute one of Luke cuddled on the couch with Rose.

Swimming Adventures

Terra took to the water like a fish, and wasn't afraid to leave Jerrod's (the kids' cousin) lap even without the floaty. Luke is closer to my personality, absolutely terrified.  He spent 30 minutes attached to his daddy.  Then he realized he could touch the floor and he was happy and feeling safe.

Kids with Chickens

My mother has some Red Stars, and my kids just LOVE them.  This is one reason I have my own chickens (hippiechickscoop.blogspot.com), along with a few others.  Terra is the one who loves the chickens so much, she has to squish them and love them.  :)

Terra also loves to pick flowers
so we decided to put some in her hair.
She's two, it didn't last much past
this picture session.

"Cups"

Today I looked up a "how to" video of "Cups" by Anna Kendrick.  After three hours of practicing and getting it down, since all the kids were other wise occupied, I decided to get video.  WIN!  Well...  Maybe...  :)  Kids decided to video bomb or sing with me.

Try 1

Okay...  Try 2
Almost!  Try 3

YES!  :)  See?  You can have a life when you have kids!  And every day is an adventure.

Top of My Head

There are some conversations that have happened a while back, and here I will attempt to type them up before I forget them.

Before Autumn was born, Terry and I were debating on whether Autumn was a girl or boy.  Terry wanted a boy to name Bowen (Bo for short) for obvious reasons.  During my pregnancy, Terry would continuously ask Luke and Terra if they were ready for their new brother to be born.  I insisted for Terry NOT to get the kids' hopes up for a boy, but who every listens to me?  Certainly not the man of the house!  BAH!  When Autumn was born, Luke came in to meet her for the first time.  He turned to me and said, "When is brother coming out?"  Oh, Honey...  There is no brother in Mommy's tummy.  "Oh," was the only response I had from that, but luckily he didn't seem too disappointed.

Luke had a broken toy that his father often fixed for him.  Luke turned to me: Momma, can you fix this?
Me:  No, Honey, I don't know how to fix it.  You'll have to get Daddy to fix it when he comes home from work.

Luke:  Because he's big?
Me:  Well, yes, he is big.
Luke:  So you can fix it because you're bigger than Daddy.
Me:  Thanks, Luke...
Luke:  You're welcome.

I was in my room changing Autumn's diaper.  Autumn just recently started talking baby coos and such.  At that moment, Autumn was taking that opportunity to talk to me, and I was talking back.  Luke comes in and says:  Autumn is laughing.
Me:  No, she's talking.
Luke:  Oh.  What is she saying?
Me:  I don't know, I don't speak baby.

The family

My family consists of my three children: Lucas or Luke age 5, Terra age 2, and Autumn age 3 months.  Autumn doesn't do much other than sleep, smile, pee/poop, and eat.  Terra is a handful and gets into anything and everything.  Luke likes to show off and (even though he is the oldest) is Terra's accomplice in crime.  My husband, Terry, often contributes to interesting conversations, and then there is me, Jennifer (alias Jenn or "That Woman").  Often times, my children should be getting in trouble, and I just cannot keep a straight face when it happens.  There are also interesting conversations that occur, and it is a situation that falls under one of those categories that will be explained and blogged.

Our family has several pets that have their own blog, but sometimes these interests overlap, and you may be reading twice if you follow them all.
